Pauline Hughes is an experienced Equine Therapist.

Pauline provides McTimoney Corley Musculoskeletal Therapy, as well as equine rehabilitation and horse therapy programs in Shropshire.

Pauline comes from a farming back ground, and grew up around horses. From an early age Pauline has been involved with riding and schooling horses. Pauline is also a qualified British Horse Society Intermediate Instructor, which means that she can help the rider with schooling programs too. She says that this provides an invaluable tool into the holistic treatment of the horse, as the rider plays a key role in the way of going of the horse.

Being an equine therapist and instructor, puts Pauline in a great position to offer private horse riding lessons in Shropshire and clinics on training ideas and groundwork with the horse to improve overall performance.

Pauline has a Degree in Biochemistry, and Post Graduate Diploma in Equine Science as well as being trained in McTimoney Corley Spinal Therapy and Myofascial Release. The science is extremely important in as much as the systems of the horse have a direct impact on the musculoskeletal structures. It is important to decide whether there are underlying issues that may be manifesting themselves in the spinal column and surrounding structures. It is as much about knowing when not to treat as the treatment itself. Of course all treatments must be under the approval of your veterinary surgeon to ensure that treatment is appropriate at that time.

Pauline is also a rider, as well as an equine therapist, this means she has seen and felt the benefits of spinal therapy on her own horses. Pauline is eager to help other horse rider combinations to improve and sustain their performance. She takes a holistic approach, and aims to assess the horse as a whole to help eliminate the cause of a muscle or skeletal problem, not just treat the symptoms.

Pauline offers a central base, the equine therapy centre is located in Mid Shropshire for clients to bring their horses for assessment, riding lessons or equine rehabilitation.

Alternatively, she can travel to you to assess and treat your horse on site at home, in Shropshire or surrounding counties.
